Check out the IAMGOLD Blog Read about our Côté Gold About The Role The Electrician safely maintains, installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical power and control systems and equipment throughout the mine and milling operation. The Electrician works collaboratively with the team to support the execution of the integrated plan and schedule. Safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical power and control systems across mining and milling operations Maintain, repair, test, and install motors, VFDs, electrical panels, breakers, and control systems Maintain and test switchgear, transformers, and Motor Control Centers (MCCs) Read and interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, and applicable electrical codes and standards Install and repair electrical components such as cables, conduits, cable trays, and related systems Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, voltage, current, and resistance Perform preventive maintenance and accurately document work using the maintenance management system Diagnose issues, anticipate potential failures, and recommend effective solutions Job Qualifications Key Skills & Knowledge: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent Ontario Provincial or Inter-Provincial Electrical License is preferred. Apprentices may be considered in accordance with business and legislative requirements. Relevant Experience A minimum of 4 years of related work experience. Previous experience in open pit mining or mineral processing (specifically gold processing) is considered an asset. Previous experience with Medium and High Voltage equipment is considered an asset. Skills & Strengths, We Value Proficiency in computer applications and maintenance software. A valid Ontario driver’s license is required. Ability to communicate effectively. Requirements
Candidates should have a high school diploma and preferably an Ontario Provincial or Inter-Provincial Electrical License with at least 4 years of related experience. Experience in open pit mining, gold processing, and high/medium voltage equipment is considered an asset.
