Job summary
Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is looking for an Intermediate Project Control Officer to support project financial governance, resource management, and reporting across multiple workstreams. This role will work closely with project teams and senior stakeholders to maintain financial controls, track budgets and forecasts, support resource allocation, and provide accurate reporting in a fast-paced environment. Contract: 3 Months Extension: Possible based on performance and business needs Hybrid: Mondays + first Friday of every month, with occasional additional onsite days as required Location: Toronto, ON Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 9–5 Start: First week of September Key Responsibilities Support project financial management throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain financial forecasts, track project progress, and escalate risks and issues. Manage and reconcile project financials, including accruals, GL reconciliation, chargebacks, invoice tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis. Prepare financial and status reports for senior leadership and steering committees. Support governance activities and continuous improvement of processes, tools, and reporting. Assist with resource allocation and resource management activities. Support onboarding and user assistance for project financial and resource management tools. Pull, manipulate, analyze, and report data from various systems. Manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business requirements. Must-Have Skills 3–5+ years of experience as a Project Control Officer, Senior IT Project Coordinator, or similar role. Experience managing project/program financials, including GL reconciliation and financial reporting. Strong experience with financial tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, collaboration, and attention to detail. Strong ability to pull, manipulate, analyze, and report data. Experience preparing reports and presentations for senior stakeholders. Nice to Have Experience in the banking or financial services industry. Experience with GL reconciliation. Experience with resource/project financial management tools. Advanced Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Experience with Jira, Power BI, or Alteryx.
