Job summary

We are helping our client in Vancouver with Senior Accountant search. This is a full-time permanent role with a hybrid work model, benefits, RRSP matching, and more. Responsibilities Lead month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, supporting financial statement preparation, investigating variances, and maintaining audit-ready documentation. Oversee payroll accounting by reconciling payroll-related general ledger accounts, analyzing accruals and payroll variances, resolving discrepancies, and supporting continuous improvements within the payroll system. Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) by comparing standard and actual project costs, investigating fluctuations, and providing financial insights to support management decision-making. Manage revenue recognition and unbilled revenue reconciliations by reviewing project activity, ensuring revenue is recognized in accordance with accounting policies, and resolving complex project accounting issues. Collaborate with Project Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and operational teams to support month-end activities, reconcile project financials, and ensure accurate financial reporting across the organization. Contribute to process optimization by identifying automation opportunities, improving month-end procedures, enhancing reporting capabilities, and strengthening financial controls within NetSuite and Dayforce environments. Take ownership of key accounting processes by proactively identifying issues, improving the efficiency and accuracy of the financial close, and serving as a trusted partner to the Accounting leadership team. Qualifications: 5+ years of progressive Accounting experience CPA designation is a must have
