FinOps Business Analyst

Role: FinOps Business Analyst Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite) Duration: 6 Months of contract with possible extension Experience Required: 6–8 Years Overview: We are seeking a FinOps Business Analyst with strong expertise in cloud technologies, business analysis, and Azure-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze data, support solution delivery, and drive successful cloud and FinOps initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of business needs and objectives. Work closely with source data teams to understand data definitions, relationships, and dependencies. Map business requirements to data sources and components, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with business objectives. Prepare clear and detailed functional specifications and documentation that translate business requirements into actionable Azure solutions. Support testing and validation activities by developing test plans and assisting with solution verification against business requirements. Serve as the liaison between business and development teams, facilitating effective communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables. Assist with project planning and execution, providing business and technical insights to support successful implementations. Leverage knowledge of mortgage creditor insurance (preferred) to align technology solutions with industry-specific requirements. Required Skills: Strong experience in Business Analysis and requirements gathering. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark for data querying, manipulation, and analysis. Knowledge of data governance, data modeling, data quality control, and ETL processes. Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including: Azure Data Factory (ADF) Azure Databricks Power BI Strong understanding of Cloud Consulting and FinOps concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Pentaho Reporting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex information effectively. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Skills: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripted infrastructure deployments, preferably Terraform. Experience developing modern applications using languages such as: Python Java .NET Go JavaScript Experience using source control/version management tools such as: Git BitBucket

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable Azure-based data solutions. Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure data accuracy and successful FinOps initiative delivery.

Requires 6-8 years of experience in business analysis with proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. Knowledge of cloud consulting, FinOps concepts, and data governance is essential.
