IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Greenwood Village, CO. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants. In this role, you'll support engineering analysis, design coordination, documentation, and periodic job site observations while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. This opportunity supports work in commercial and institutional markets and offers hands-on experience over the course of the summer program. At a Glance Location: Greenwood Village, CO Discipline: Mechanical Engineering Markets: Commercial; Institutional Ownership: 100% employee-owned (ESOP) Work Schedule: Full-time in office, 10-12 week summer program Program Length: 10-12 week summer program Sponsorship: Not available What You'll Do Assist with design portions of mechanical systems projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment Assist with maintaining client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files Assist with coordinating design and schedule activities with other disciplines, suppliers, and project partners Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, client instructions, and project progress Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement Work within the project's monetary budget and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations What You'll Bring Required Education Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required Required Skills/Abilities Strong interest in design consulting Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups Preferred Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred About the Team HVAC and mechanical systems that enhance performance and advance sustainability Multiple international ASHRAE Technology Awards for energy-efficient design Specialties include geothermal, chilled beams, central plants, and energy recovery Lifecycle analysis and rapid energy modeling for high-performance outcomes Projects across high-rise, healthcare, and industrial facilities Recent work includes Etha Hotel Redesign, Hospitality; Columbus Library, Education; and CMMC Radiology Remodel, Education. State of Colorado Pay Range: $22-24 per hour The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
