Role Description The Handy Person role at IMPERIAL RESTORATION is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. In this role, the individual will perform a variety of repair, restoration, and maintenance tasks related to flood, fire, and mold damage, including basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, minor plumbing, and general construction support. Day-to-day duties include assessing site conditions, executing restoration work according to project plans, using hand and power tools safely, and assisting with demolition and cleanup as needed. The Handy Person will coordinate with project managers and other trades, follow safety and building standards, and ensure that work areas are kept organized and secure. The role also involves interacting professionally with clients and team members, documenting work performed, and supporting timely completion of restoration projects. Qualifications Strong skills in general repairs and maintenance, including basic carpentry, drywall work, painting, and minor plumbing. Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools, with knowledge of construction site safety practices and personal protective equipment. Experience in restoration, renovation, or construction environments, especially water, fire, or mold damage work, is an asset. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to assess damage, prioritize tasks, and follow written and verbal instructions. Reliable transportation to job sites across the Greater Toronto Area and willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends as needed. Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a focus on professionalism and respectful interaction with clients and colleagues. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in varied environmental conditions. Previous experience in a handy person, laborer, or technician role and familiarity with local building codes are beneficial.
