Role Description The Fireproofing Labourer is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. This position involves preparing work areas, loading and unloading materials, and assisting with the mixing and application of fireproofing and thermal insulation products. Responsibilities include operating basic tools and equipment under supervision, maintaining clean and organized job sites, and following all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment. The Fireproofing Labourer supports skilled applicators, helps set up scaffolding or access equipment as required, and may assist with basic measurements and material handling. The role requires working indoors and outdoors, sometimes at heights or in confined spaces, and collaborating closely with supervisors and coworkers to complete projects according to plans and specifications. Qualifications Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying materials, standing for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions. Strong awareness of safety practices, including comfortable use of PPE and willingness to follow company safety policies and site-specific procedures. Basic tool-handling skills and mechanical aptitude; experience with construction or industrial job sites is an asset. Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Good communication skills and attention to detail when assisting with measurements, material preparation, and site cleanup. Willingness to learn fireproofing and thermal insulation techniques through on-the-job training; prior fireproofing or insulation experience is an advantage but not required. Availability to work full-time schedules, which may include overtime or varied hours depending on project needs. Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to Calgary-area job sites are preferred.
