Senior Python Developer – Security Automation Location: Markham or Toronto, ON – Hybrid, currently 2 days onsite Duration: Contract Preferred Location: Markham The Role We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to join an enterprise security automation team responsible for building secure, scalable cryptographic automation solutions. The successful candidate will primarily develop Python/FastAPI REST APIs that orchestrate certificate and key lifecycle workflows and integrate with enterprise security, DevOps and service-management platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI. Build automation supporting certificate and cryptographic key lifecycle workflows. Integrate APIs with platforms such as ServiceNow, certificate lifecycle management (CLM), key management systems (KMS) and DevOps tools. Develop and maintain infrastructure and deployment automation. Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions. Document API contracts and technical solutions. Develop unit and integration tests. Provide L3 production support and troubleshooting. Deliver new features, maintenance enhancements and bug fixes. Must-Have Skills 8+ years of security-related technology experience. 5+ years of strong professional Python development experience, specifically including FastAPI. 3+ years of automation and Infrastructure-as-Code experience using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or equivalent. Strong REST API development and integration experience. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, organization and attention to detail. Self-starter who can adapt effectively within a technical environment. Nice to Have TLS/SSL certificate management and PKI concepts, including issuance, renewal and revocation. Experience with Venafi, HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk or similar PKI/secrets-management platforms. Venafi REST API experience is a strong asset. ServiceNow integration experience, including CMDB or workflow automation. Linux and/or Windows server support experience. CISSP certification.
