Job Overview As a Welder at Fruitland Manufacturing, you will be responsible for fitting, assembling, and welding metal components used in the manufacturing of our products. Working from fabrication drawings and specifications, you will use various welding processes to produce high-quality components that meet customer and company standards. This hands-on role requires strong welding and fitting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings. You will work both independently and as part of the production team while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. You may also operate various metalworking equipment, including press brakes, shears, saws, roll-forming machines, forklifts, and cranes, with company training provided where required. Responsibilities Read and understand fabrication blueprints and drawings. Fit metal components according to specifications and fabrication drawings while ensuring all tolerances are met. Perform welding using GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and FCAW processes. Operate welding equipment (manual and semi-automatic) and various metal shaping machines. Complete all assigned work within established timelines while complying with health and safety regulations and company procedures. Perform basic maintenance of welding equipment. Operate metalworking equipment such as shears, press brakes, roll-forming machines, and saws as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Collaborate with production team members to ensure quality and productivity goals are achieved. Requirements Technical trade school certification in Welding. Minimum 1-2 years of welding experience. Minimum 1-2 years of fitting experience. Basic computer skills. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and prints. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and understand drawings in English. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Core Competencies Strong attention to detail. Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. This position will be based at our facility in Stoney Creek, Ontario, with no anticipated travel.
