Job Opportunity: We are looking for a full-time Electrician to lead, build, and wire project electrical control panels, sub-assemblies, and automated systems using the engineering package generated by the Electrical Designer. What We Offer: Employer Matched Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Extended Healthcare, Dental, Vision Benefits Health Spending Account (HSA) Employee Events Educational Assistance Programs Costco Membership What you’ll do: Read and understand electrical drawings, manuals and specifications, then, applying all pertinent electrical codes, proceed to build systems as scheduled Mark drawings to “as built” throughout the project Wire electrical system and Panels to current electrical code Perform general system checks once wiring is complete, which include, but not limited to, Full System Power Ups, Troubleshooting wiring circuit, motor rotation checks, safety circuit testing, I/O testing, and switch adjustments Review machine concept and design with Electrical designer and project developer Research and develop application and use of products involved in a project. Understand Mecsmarts’ scheduling and budget requirements, and apply personal management and organization skills to meet required time and material allowances Occasional travel as required globally What you’ll need: Minimum OCOT Canadian Red Seal Certificate of Qualification 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Minimum Diploma from 2-year Electrical Engineering Technician (Co-op) Program or 3-year Electrical Engineering Technology (Co-op) Program Minimum 2 years' experience as a Licensed Electrician, with wiring and project lead experience Working understanding of PLC function, wiring, motors, and drives, with basic mechanical and pneumatic fundamentals Strong electrical and assembly knowledge of custom automation Strong Knowledge of the Electrical Safety Code Ability to lift weights reaching 50lbs, carry weights reaching 40lbs, and push and pull weights reaching 100-150lbs For more information, visit our website at www.mecsmart.com If you require any accommodation during our recruitment process, please let us know. #MSMART

Requirements

Requires a 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Red Seal certificate and a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Technician. Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed electrician with knowledge of PLCs and automation is required.
