Client: Critical Infrastructure Client Title: Data Center Technician I / II / Lead Location: Mackenzie, BC Duration: 12+ Month Contract Travel Requirement: 3 Weeks Onsite / 1 Week Home 40 hours and then some OT Pay Rate: $40 -$50/hr CAD $120/day per diem CAD Job Description Insight Global is seeking Data Center Technicians I, II, and Lead Technicians to support large-scale data center deployments and critical infrastructure projects throughout Canada. These individuals will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting network and data center infrastructure in live production environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber and copper cabling, structured cabling systems, rack and stack deployments, hardware installations, and infrastructure troubleshooting. Candidates should be comfortable working independently while supporting medium to large-scale data center operations and buildouts. Lead Technicians should have experience mentoring junior technicians and driving project execution. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of physical network infrastructure, including fiber optic systems, structured cabling, servers, switches, cabinets, and network connectivity. They should be able to interpret technical documentation, follow installation standards, and effectively troubleshoot issues in fast-paced environments. Required Skills & Experience 2+ years of experience in data centers, telecommunications, structured cabling, network infrastructure, or related environments Experience working with both copper and fiber optic cabling Experience pulling, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting cabling infrastructure Understanding of single-mode and multimode fiber Experience with rack & stack deployments and hardware installations Ability to troubleshoot connectivity, hardware, and physical layer network issues Experience reading network diagrams, rack elevations, cable schedules, and technical documentation Experience working in live production environments Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Skills & Experience Fiber splicing or fusion splicing experience OTDR testing, light meters, and fiber certification tools Experience troubleshooting switches, routers, and network equipment Experience consoling into network devices Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or similar networking environments Previous experience in medium to large-scale data centers Leadership experience for Lead Technician openings
