Required Skills & Experience - Experience working with a ticket-based system - 1+ years of experience with server repair and maintenance - 1+ years of experience with computer hardware - Required to complete government reliability security clearance (including fingerprinting) - Bilingual French/English speaking Nice to Have Skills & Experience - Previous Data Center experience Job Description As an Amazon Data Center Technician, you are a primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively pass down knowledge of these technologies to junior staff. You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and, where applicable, are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team. You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary. You work autonomously to resolve most support issues. You are able to execute small projects on your own, and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved. Contractors will work a ticket-based system, with cycle leads assigning approximately 10 to 15 tickets per day. Each ticket corresponds to a server repair or maintenance task, and contractors are expected to resolve their assigned tickets within the 8-hour workday. The primary work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with possible flexibility to a 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift for all 4 positions if needed (30 mins unpaid break after 4 hours consecutive hours of work)

Requirements

Candidates need experience using a ticket-based system and at least one year of experience in server repair and maintenance and computer hardware. They must complete government reliability security clearance, including fingerprinting, and speak both French and English; prior data center experience is preferred.
