Mainframe Consultant

Location: 4x per week, Toronto Length: 6 months + extensions or permanent Interviews: 1 round Rate: 65-85 Required Skills & Experience • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Release Engineering • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as: ○ Octopus Deploy, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar • Exposure to or experience with: ○ UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) or similar legacy deployment tools • Strong understanding of: ○ Build and release pipelines ○ Environment management and deployment strategies • Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python) • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams Nice to Have Skills & Experience Nice-to-Have Qualifications • Exposure to mainframe environments (z/OS, COBOL applications, batch processing) • Experience working in hybrid environments integrating mainframe and distributed systems • Familiarity with: ○ API integrations and service-based architectures ○ Cloud platforms hybrid - AWS, Azure • Understanding of enterprise change management and release processes Job Description We are seeking an Intermediate DevOps Engineer to support platform engineering initiatives and modernization efforts across our enterprise environment. This role will focus on CI/CD pipeline development, platform migration (UrbanCode Deploy → Octopus), and cross-functional delivery, with some exposure to mainframe-integrated systems.
