JOB DESCRIPTION Insight Global is seeking a Project Coordinator for a net new position to support the Mine Progression team who will play a key role in supporting the planning, procurement, execution, and stewardship of heavy civil capital projects within one of Canada's largest oil sands mining operations. The Project Coordinator will act as the primary liaison between site operations, engineering, procurement, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure projects are scoped appropriately, competitively bid, safely executed, and financially managed throughout the project lifecycle. This individual will own multiple projects simultaneously, typically overseeing 2-3 projects in active field execution while supporting 1-2 projects in planning and development phases. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • 5-10 years of experience in Project Coordination, Project Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or Capital Project Delivery • Experience supporting heavy civil, mining, oil sands, oil and gas, infrastructure, earthworks, reclamation, dewatering, or industrial construction projects • Experience working on capital projects valued at approximately $20M+ or managing multiple concurrent projects of similar complexity • Experience developing scopes of work, contractor bid packages, technical work packages, or construction execution packages • Experience supporting procurement activities, contractor bidding processes, and contractor performance management • Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost stewardship, forecasting, vendor invoice reconciliation, quantity tracking, and project financial reporting • Experience monitoring project execution and coordinating field-based construction activities • Experience developing project metrics, dashboards, spreadsheets, reports, or Power BI-based project reporting tools • Willingness and ability to travel to site approximately once per month during peak execution season (September-May) NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Engineering degree or diploma with preference for Civil, Mining, Mechanical, Construction, or related disciplines • Experience working within oil sands mining operations • Experience supporting mine progression, mine infrastructure, dewatering, tailings, pond development, reclamation, or earthworks projects • Experience working in remote or northern operating environments and understanding seasonal construction constraints • Experience with project controls, Primavera P6, cost management systems, Power BI, SAP, or other project reporting tools • PMP, CAPM, CET, EIT, P.Eng., or related professional certification • Owner-side project experience within a large industrial or resource-based organization As part of our recruitment process, AI-assisted tools may be used to support candidate screening, resume review, interview note-taking, and application evaluation. Candidates should have experience with complex capital projects, scopes and bid packages, procurement, contractor management, project financial controls, field execution, and reporting; an engineering degree or diploma and relevant certifications are preferred.
