The End User Platforms team at ICBC manages email, telephony, print and virtual desktop & application services. We are looking for a Technical Specialist to join the End User Platforms Printer Services workgroup. The role focuses on maintaining, managing and supporting ICBC’s printer fleet and related services, including print release, scanning, e-faxing and large scalelarge-scale production printers. You’ll troubleshoot complex printer issues, collaborate with infrastructure, security teams, key printer vendors, and help evolve the environment as cloud adoption and best practices continue to grow. A Technical Specialist acts as a technical subject matter expert and is accountable for ensuring day-to-day operational tasks are completed. They also provide support to corporate projects and lead the implementation of internal initiatives. To be successful in this role a candidate must have the following technical skills at an intermediate level equivalent to more than 5 years experience: Strong foundation in ITSM and utilizing and managing a cloud ITSM platform such as HaloITSM, ServiceNow, and ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus • Act as the primary point of contact for all printer-related inquiries and issues • Experience with print hardware management solutions such as HP WebJet Admin, HP Security Manager, Xerox CentreWare etc. • Experience with print management solutions such as Pharos Print Solutions, Papercut MF, Vasion PrinterLogic • Strong understanding of supporting and managing Microsoft Universal Print • Hands-on experience troubleshooting HP and large-scale Ricoh Printers • Hands-on experience troubleshooting dependent services that may require printing such as document scanning, eFax services such as RightFax • Technical experience utilizing M365 Admin Portal and utilizing Microsoft Entra • Strong understanding of supporting and managing Microsoft Universal Print • In-depth knowledge of moving on-prem printer server environment to the Cloud • Support and manage printer environments that include internal business and external facing 3rd party business partner services. This consists of ICBC offices and partnered Service BC offices • Perform regular maintenance to ensure a high level of availability. This includes server patching, certificate updating and hardware firmware updates to list a few. • Conduct system audits to maintain the health and availability of printer resources • Strong relationship skills, working with internal clients and enterprise printer vendors To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate the following competencies: • Skill in managing, prioritizing, and completing several tasks at once. • Capacity to make decisions that support strategic objectives or business practices. • Advanced technical support expertise, including a track record of efficiently solving complex problems and offering practical solutions for users. • Background in technical consulting, with experience guiding stakeholders on best practices and recommending ideal technology options. • Effective project planning capabilities, demonstrated by organizing resources, setting clear goals, and overseeing timelines to ensure projects are completed successfully.
