Location: Harrow, Ontario Department: DEPTEC The Opportunity Reporting to the Plant General Manager, you will be accountable for developing and implementing the team’s production facility schedule to meet production quality and delivery goals. Effective teamwork, clear communication, initiative, intelligent judgment, achieving and maintaining production efficiency and, most importantly, dedication to the quality of the product produced, while creating schedules for day-to-day, short-term, and long-term scheduling. The position of Production Planner will report schedules to management members, company leadership, customers and follow-up with any questions that may arise. What you will do? Responsible for the development of baseline, master, and detailed schedules. The Planner oversees all scheduling activities and provides project status updates, forecasts, and progress reports. Track critical activities and changes to the critical path impacting the project Track baselines, perform what-if analysis, and develop contingency plans. Ensure Key activities and schedule milestone dates identified in the schedule basis are captured as part of project master schedule. Employee hours tracking and forecasting. Work with Purchasing to schedule production based on inventory availability due to supply issues. Review and report on weekly and monthly reports to communicate master production schedule. Meet target costs related to freight for raw material deliveries while meeting required inventory budgets. Coordinate/schedule (international) freight from vendors as required. Participate in projects aimed at improving forecasting accuracy, and the production planning process. Create, implement and monitor work breakdown structures (WBS), resource breakdown structures (RBS) and cost breakdown structures (CBS) Other duties as required from time to time. Required Qualifications Have an excellent attendance – arrival at work before the beginning of the shift and departure after the shift. Employee conflict resolution skills. Advanced Microsoft Project knowledge and skills are required. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business or Manufacturing discipline or equivalent combination of relevant experience considered a strong asset. Effective management of your team and assist in maintaining delivery schedules. Conduct yourself in a respectful manner when dealing with all employees. Be aware of all company policies and Employee handbook. Excellent communication skills. Time management, scheduling, and prioritization skills.
