Full-Time | Based in Peace River, Alberta | Relocation Assistance Available Pay: CA$26.00–CA$30.00 per hour Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Dental care Extended health care Life insurance Paid time off Relocation assistance About the Role Integrated Municipal Support (IMS) is adding a full-time Municipal Support Officer to strengthen regional coverage across four municipal communities in northwestern Alberta. Based in Peace River, this additional position will work alongside our existing officers, providing coverage for vacation and other absences, assisting with additional workloads, and supporting the launch of services in new communities as IMS grows. You will combine municipal bylaw enforcement with proactive patrols, public engagement, and community safety support. Our approach emphasizes education, respectful communication, and voluntary compliance, with enforcement action taken when appropriate. Location and Relocation This position is based in Peace River, Alberta, and requires travel between the communities we serve. We welcome applicants from Edmonton, Calgary, and other larger centres who are interested in relocating to a smaller community. Applicants living outside a reasonable commuting distance must be willing to relocate to Peace River or the surrounding area. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Key Responsibilities Provide regional coverage and operational support across four municipal communities. Cover scheduled time off and other absences for existing municipal officers. Patrol municipal facilities, parks, roadways, and public spaces. Respond to bylaw complaints and investigate concerns. Enforce local bylaws fairly, respectfully, and consistently. Prioritize education and voluntary compliance whenever appropriate. Support community events and municipal initiatives. Collaborate with municipal staff, law enforcement, and emergency services. Maintain accurate notes, reports, and enforcement documentation. Build positive relationships with residents, businesses, and visitors. Assist with new municipal service launches as IMS expands. What We’re Looking For We are looking for a professional, dependable, and community-minded individual who: Has experience in security, bylaw enforcement, law enforcement, or protective services. Communicates clearly and handles conflict calmly. Balances firmness with empathy and sound judgment. Can work independently and adapt to different municipal bylaws and priorities. Is comfortable travelling between communities and supporting fellow officers. Values community relationships and takes pride in representing the municipalities we serve. Qualifications Strong communication and de-escalation skills. Valid Alberta Security Services Licence or relevant enforcement credentials. Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean driver’s abstract. Strong report-writing skills and comfort using digital reporting systems. Ability to pass required background checks. Willingness to relocate to the Fox Creek area, if required. Bylaw or municipal enforcement training is an asset; role-specific training is provided. Why Join IMS?
