Anesthesia Assistant Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Work Arrangement: On-site Salary: $112,931 to $132,860 per year Travel: None required Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Anesthesia Assistant to join its growing surgical team in Richmond Hill. Working closely with Anesthesiologists and other clinical professionals, you will support patients receiving general, regional and local anesthesia, as well as procedural sedation. This position is ideal for a clinically confident professional who values patient safety, teamwork and evidence-based care. You will work across operating and procedure rooms, assisting with patient assessments, monitoring, advanced airway management and anesthesia-related interventions. Key Responsibilities Provide anesthesia assistance in operating rooms and procedural areas Assist Anesthesiologists with patient assessments and anesthesia care Prepare, inspect and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies Monitor patients before, during and following anesthesia Support advanced airway management and other clinical interventions Assist with general, regional and local anesthesia Support patients receiving procedural sedation Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately Maintain accurate clinical documentation Follow infection prevention, patient safety and professional practice standards Collaborate with Anesthesiologists, nurses, surgeons and other members of the multidisciplinary team Participate in quality improvement, education and clinical practice initiatives Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Assistant education program and clinical practicum Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience Perioperative or surgical experience is considered an asset Registration and Certification Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Advanced airway management education and practical experience Skills and Qualifications Strong knowledge of anesthesia practices, patient monitoring and airway management Sound clinical judgement and the ability to respond calmly in urgent situations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety Ability to manage competing clinical priorities in a fast-paced environment Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development Why Consider This Opportunity? Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, completion of an accredited Anesthesia Assistant program, and at least one year of clinical experience. Current registration with the CNO or CRTO and ACLS certification are required.
