Position Description Title: Maintenance Manager/Superintendent Department: Maintenance Immediate Supervisor: Maintenance & Engineering Manager Status: Exempt Salaried Position Purpose: The Maintenance Manager reports to the, Maintenance & Engineering and Manager and oversees all Maintenance activities and the successful execution of the work order system for the plant. Provides direction for the Maintenance Department, supervises and gives work direction to maximize labor efficiency in the Maintenance Department and schedules all daily Maintenance work. Additionally, supports capital projects, maximizes plant asset reliability, plans and schedules all Maintenance downs and supports all cost reduction programs. The incumbent must stay abreast of plant schedules, manpower needs, new equipment installation and upcoming shutdowns and equipment issues to help coordinate activities in Maintenance for cost efficient repairs within time constraints. Principle Accountabilities Ensure safe work practices and work environment. Accountable for maintenance reliability excellence program. Accountable for the preventive maintenance program, and maintenance of production equipment and facilities. Develop, maintain and administer an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient working condition. Execute an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled down time. Maintain all operating equipment in satisfactory condition. .. Analyze cost studies of proposals for new equipment. Develop objectives and standards of performance for projects within the Maintenance Department required to meet departmental, divisional and corporate goals and objectives. Plan and provide for an adequate supply and ensure control over spare parts and maintenance supplies. Set work priorities and objectives and assure that employees meet or exceed them. Review and approve Maintenance Supervisor recommendations for the purchase of tools, material and supplies. Administer and communicate company and customer policies and procedures to the team. Plan and install maintenance capital projects. Ensures that maintenance safety practices and procedures are followed. Related duties as assigned by manager. Essential Skills and Experience High School or technical school graduate. A minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Extensive knowledge of the methods, practices, techniques, tools, equipment and materials used in plant maintenance and repair. Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to read and understand plans and blueprints. Thorough knowledge of maintenance reliability. Must have expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email and spreadsheets. Must have ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Why Choose IPG?
