Job summary
BASIC FUNCTION Reporting to the Manager, Oil Marketing, this is an exciting opportunity to be a key team member in IPC Canada’s Marketing team. The role will involve analytical duties in many different areas such: as, pricing, scheduling, reporting, accounting, credit, etc. The successful individual will get significant exposure across the Marketing value chain in a growing business but will be expected to be perform both high and low-level tasks with equal vigour and accuracy as an important piece of a small team. PRINCIPAL ROLES & REPONSIBILITIES · Scheduling pipelines at various feeders and terminals, · Maintaining Midstream portal entries on Husky, IPL, Enbridge and Petrotranz · Maintaining and developing strong working relationship with terminal operators and counterparties. · Handling Form A submissions, confirms, pipeline nominations and apportionment. · Work with the team to identify and develop opportunities to add value to the marketing group. · Maintain inventory and position tracking for total supply and demand positions. · Calculating monthly index reports and reconciliations to industry index’s · Managing various marketing reports as required (credit reports, P&L statements, netback optimization, etc). · Confirming pricing and volumetrics for invoicing · Market analysis and research, data collection and modelling · Primarily supporting crude oil functions, but may assist in the natural gas or NGL components of business. · Assisting in systems and modelling development as required. · Supporting accrual and settlement processes REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS 1 to 3 years experience A post-secondary degree in Business, Economics, or Computer Sciences combined with oil and gas industry experience with a preferred focus in crude supply, trading, and/or logistics. Ability to work and collaborate effectively within a small team. Relevant experience or understanding of logistics, pipeline transportation, and/or marketing accounting is desirable but not required. Candidates should have an understanding of the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) crude oil marketing business, be highly analytical, possess strong business and financial acumen. High degree of integrity and professionalism as an internal and external representative of IPC’s Marketing function. Competencies in communication, decision making, and multi-tasking skills are a must. Strong computer skills, Excel centric but python or other coding skills considered a benefit to this position. High attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and independent problem-solving skills.
