We are looking for a Distribution Center Manager to lead our Saint John, New Brunswick distribution operations and drive performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Salary Range: CAD $70,800 - $88,500 annually Plus eligibility for company benefits and incentive programs, where applicable. The Distribution Center Manager (DCM) ensures the warehouse and yard operate at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction as the primary goal. This role is responsible for supervising, organizing, and developing warehouse employees while establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals. The DCM oversees all aspects of distribution center operations, including inventory management, logistics, safety, staffing, equipment utilization, and process improvement. By leading a high-performing team and maintaining a strong focus on safety, service, quality, and productivity, the Distribution Center Manager plays a critical role in supporting business objectives and delivering an exceptional customer experience. What You'll Do: Operations Leadership: Oversee daily warehouse and yard operations to ensure service and quality standards are met. Develop and implement operational processes that improve productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and system reconciliation. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions and improvement initiatives. Coordinate building, facility, and equipment maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all company policies, operational standards, and regulatory requirements. People Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse associates, leads, and supervisors. Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture focused on safety, accountability, and customer service. Conduct performance reviews, establish employee goals, and support career development. Manage workforce scheduling and approve employee timecards. Address employee relations matters through coaching, counseling, and performance management practices. Health, Safety & Compliance: Promote a strong safety-first culture throughout the distribution center. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Support and maintain programs such as C-TPAT and other corporate compliance initiatives. Deliver and monitor employee training to ensure regulatory and operational requirements are met. Financial & Business Management: Develop and manage annual operating budgets. Monitor spending and analyze operational and financial performance. Identify opportunities for cost savings, operational improvements, and loss prevention. Prepare reports and communicate operational results to leadership. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Transportation, Procurement, Production, Customer Service, Human Resources, and other internal partners. Maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, customers, and external stakeholders. Resolve operational challenges while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and service. What You'll Bring: Education & Experience: College diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years of leadership experience within a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain environment. Experience leading teams in a unionized environment is considered an asset. Ability to successfully pass a C-TPAT background check. Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes. SAP and RF scanning experience are considered assets. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset. Leadership Competencies: Strong leadership, organizational, and people management skills. Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of occupational health and safety requirements. Detail-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence and customer service. Working Conditions: Combination of office, warehouse, and yard environments. Exposure to moving equipment, industrial vehicles, noise, and varying temperatures. Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the facility. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, safety glasses, and high-visibility apparel. Flexibility to work extended hours as business needs require.
