Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanic role located in Grande Prairie, AB. The Mechanic will perform routine and preventive maintenance on log trucks, log trailers and lowbeds, including inspections, servicing, and component replacement. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical issues, troubleshooting equipment failures, and completing maintenance and repair work to minimize downtime. The role involves documenting service activities, maintaining maintenance records, and working closely with operations teams to prioritize repairs. The Mechanic will also follow all safety protocols, use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment, and help ensure equipment is safe and ready for logging, construction, and trucking operations. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and Maintenance & Repair for heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. Experience working with Heavy Equipment, including logging, construction, or trucking machinery. Strong Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Automotive Service Technician is an asset. Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in industrial and construction environments. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in recordkeeping and parts management. Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
