As a Buyer you will be part of the Purchasing team that falls under Supply Management. The Purchasing team plays a critical role in supporting Irving Oil’s operations across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. This team is responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services for nearly all business areas, with the exception of turnaround-related items and long-lead project procurement. Located on the third floor of the Irving Oil Headquarters in Saint John, the Purchasing team is composed of specialized buyers, each managing their own procurement category. As a student, your role will focus specifically on inventory purchasing, giving you the opportunity to work independently and take ownership of your tasks. Rather than supporting a specific buyer, you will contribute directly to the team’s success by managing inventory-related procurement activities, gaining exposure to systems, processes, and supplier interactions that are foundational to a career in supply chain and procurement. Responsibilities: * Manage inventory-related procurement tasks, including issuing purchase orders and tracking deliveries for Irving Energy * Handle requests for quotes, work within Oracle to process requisitions and purchase orders, and ensure supplier payments are completed * Follow up on estimated time of arrival (ETA) for goods, confirm delivery promises, and manage documentation through Inspyrus Your Skills: * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with systems like Oracle and Inspyrus is an asset * Strong written and verbal communication * Excellent attention to detail * Proactive approach to problem-solving Your Experience: * Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Administration program with an interest in Supply Management * Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school What We Offer: * Professional Development – Student focused learning & development sessions, mentorships and networking events * Student Benefits – Housing allowance, relocation support, co-op fee reimbursement and parking allowance for qualifying candidates * Work Environment – Work in our home office building or our refinery with access to a fitness facility, onsite nurse, and a café * Wellness Support – With 24/7 access to our Employee & Family Assistance Program * Volunteer and donation matching program – Choose when and where to make an impact with a paid volunteer day, company volunteer opportunities, and a donation matching program * Compensation – The weekly salary for this role will be based on your current work term. 1st - $795, 2nd - $875, 3rd and additional terms - $960 Irving Oil is committed to supporting a diverse and inclusive work environment.
