As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer and Refining & Supply Operations by providing financial leadership and insight for the Saint John Refinery's variable cost performance. Partnering closely with the Technical and Reliability teams, you will be responsible for analyzing key cost drivers, delivering accurate financial reporting, and supporting the forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes that drive operational and financial performance. Your goal will be to provide timely, data-driven recommendations that help leaders optimize costs, improve business outcomes, and achieve strategic objectives. Your success will be measured by your ability to influence decision-making through meaningful analysis, strengthen financial processes, and build strong partnerships across operations and finance while providing mentorship to developing analysts. What We Offer: Work Environment – Work in our beautiful home office building with access to a fitness facility, onsite nurse, and a café Competitive Compensation – Including an annual bonus plan, pension plan, and parking allowance Flexible Benefits Plan – In effect from day one and offers three levels of coverage to select from to meet your unique, personal needs Paid Vacation – Plus an annual option to purchase additional vacation, too Wellness Support – With an annual wellness allowance, paid personal care days and a 24/7 Employee & Family Assistance Program Opportunity to give back to some amazing causes in our community – Choose when and where to make an impact with a paid volunteer day, company volunteer opportunities, and a donation matching program Your Responsibilities: Lead and review regular financial deliverables for business partners and finance leadership Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical processes Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions and performance improvement initiatives Review work prepared by team members and provide coaching and constructive feedback to support development Produce and support quarterly reporting deliverables for the Board of Directors Facilitate and review the bi-weekly forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives Support the execution, monitoring, and financial stewardship of strategic business initiatives Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to address emerging business needs Provide informal leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Junior and Intermediate Financial Analysts Your Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information Ability to build effective working relationships and partner successfully with operational teams and senior leaders Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly to diverse audiences Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint Your Experience: Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, supplemented by a CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting credential Minimum of five years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting Experience with financial systems such as Cognos/TM1, combined with a strong understanding of financial planning, reporting, and business processes, is considered an asset The expected annual salary range for this position is $78,048 - $132,681.
