Contract Job title: Senior Payroll Analyst - Bilingual Duration: One-year fixed-term contract Role status: Current opening This role supports complex multi-provincial payroll operations, system enhancements and process improvements. Principal tasks and responsibilities include: Lead complex Canadian multi-provincial payroll activities, including processing, balancing, validation, reconciliations, statutory remittances and year-end reporting. Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues, retroactive calculations, corrections, variances, escalations and employee inquiries. Serve as a Workday Payroll subject matter expert, supporting configuration, testing, user acceptance testing, system enhancements and payroll-related changes. Improve payroll processes, documentation, internal controls, automation and operational efficiency. Partner with HR, Finance, Treasury, Tax, HRIS, external vendors and auditors to resolve payroll matters and support audit requirements. Mentor Payroll Analysts through technical guidance, knowledge sharing and support with complex payroll scenarios. Prepare payroll reports and insights, and support acquisitions, integrations, system implementations and special payroll projects. Our client: Our client is a leading healthcare services organization with a national network of practices. They are seeking an experienced bilingual payroll professional to support their Canadian payroll operations on a one-year fixed-term contract. Qualifications and pre-requisites: Minimum five years of progressive Canadian payroll experience supporting large, multi-provincial payrolls. Advanced knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, statutory remittances, reconciliations and year-end reporting. Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation required; Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation considered an asset. Workday Payroll experience required, including testing, system enhancements, payroll-related changes, implementations, process improvements or projects. Strong analytical, reconciliation, problem-solving, Excel and organizational skills. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet critical deadlines. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain complex payroll concepts clearly. Professional proficiency in spoken and written English and French required. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Additional information or perks: One-year fixed-term contract providing leave coverage. Annual salary of $80,000-$95,000 CAD, plus a competitive total rewards and benefits package. Based in downtown Toronto's financial district. Hybrid schedule: Monday to Thursday onsite, with Fridays working from home.
