Job summary

Are you a Municipal Planning Engineer with a focus on hydraulic modelling and planning? Are you looking to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professional engineers and technologists, on a variety of projects across Western Canada? If so, we want to hear from you! This position works directly with the Municipal Infrastructure Planning Team out of our Burnaby office, as part of our broader OneISL Municipal Infrastructure Planning team managed out of Calgary. A Little About Us ISL is comprised of just over 600 employees including award-winning engineers, technologists, planners, landscape architects, scientists, and professionals that work together to deliver infrastructure projects that minimize environmental impacts and maximize benefits to the community. ISL’s Municipal Infrastructure Planning Team is a collaborative group of 13 individuals across Alberta and BC focused on planning and optimizing municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. We combine expertise in hydraulic modelling, master planning, and sustainable development to support infrastructure delivery across Western Canada. Our team is currently part of the larger Water Team which is made up of 30 individuals who have close working relationships centered around water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. We have expertise in water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations and reservoirs, linear infrastructure for collection and distribution and of course water resources planning. About the Role The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively liaise with clients. While no two days look the same, you can expect to: Plan, analyze, and design urban hydraulic systems (potable water distribution, wastewater collection and stormwater drainage) Complete hydrologic and hydraulic modelling of complex urban drainage systems using state of the art software Apply your innovative and unique perspective to plan systems that a municipality can be proud of today and in the future Contribute to the learning and progression of artificial intelligence and automation in our industry Complete and submit proposals Leverage your strong skills in water, wastewater and stormwater (including LID) to mentor junior staff Coordinate CAD design technologists to prepare designs Prepare engineering reports, documents, and figures Perform quality management – ensuring quality procedures are followed for drawings and reports Develop and maintain ongoing client relationships Ready to throw your name in?
