Role: Embedded Linux Engineer Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) We are seeking an Embedded Linux Engineer who is passionate about contributing to this cutting-edge field. Collaborate with brilliant minds across disciplines from around the world, including sensor design engineers, systems engineers, firmware developers, and product/test engineers. Together, you’ll research, design, prototype, and ultimately transform our vision into reality. Responsibilities: As an Embedded Linux Engineer, you will: Design and develop innovative ideas for camera systems, from sensor to computer. Develop and maintain software applications using C/C++ and/or other relevant programming languages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for our products. Develop and maintain routines and accelerators for mixed Linux/FPGA-based camera systems. Design and develop high-performance video processing systems on ZYNQ platforms, particularly Ultrascale+ (if applicable). Implement and optimize techniques for efficient memory management and high-rate video stream handling. Integrate V4L2 drivers to facilitate video data acquisition and processing. Optimize system performance, ensuring low latency and high throughput for video data processing and memory storage. Assist testing and integrating hardware accelerators using Vitis. Troubleshoot and debug complex system issues, using tools such as SDK, and Linux debugging tools. Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Collaborate with the team to develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and test plans. Qualifications required: A BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field. Previous experience of real time video stream processing applications, particularly with V4L2. Experience in Embedded C/C++/Linux development (Raspberry Pi, STM32, AMD FPGA). Knowledge of embedded Linux development and debugging tools. Strong command line experience. Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and Linux operating system. Proficiency in image processing and embedded systems development. Nice to have: Industry experience. Linux driver development. Experience with rolling shutters and/or neuromorphic sensors. Knowledge of ZYNQ Ultrascale+ devices, including the Processing Subsystem (PS) and Programmable Logic (PL). Knowledge of Vitis HLS. Understanding of embedded systems design and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
