Key Responsibilities Cross-train and mentor junior welders to help them become efficient in producing quality welds, when applicable. Welding large components and operating heavy machinery. Complete tacking, welding, grinding, and finishing work as it is required to support production. Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and welding instructions. Operate a variety of welding equipment based on material type, thickness, join configuration, and welding requirements. After welds are completed, visually inspect for quality, consistency, appearance, and any obvious defects before moving on to other work. Work with the team, including fellow fitters, supervisors, and production staff to support quality of work and on-time delivery of the product. Follow all safety regulations in accordance with OHSA and company policies. Requirements Required Skills Minimum 5-10+ years of welding experience Ability to work within a team and independently Ability to operate an overhead crane (Jaylor will train and certify, experience is an asset) Ability to operate heavy machinery, tools, etc. Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time, lifting 50 pounds, and bending Willingness to teach Great communication skills Has an eye for detail Enjoys working with machines * Weld tickets are not required; we value and assess your skills over a qualification. Onsite parking is available for all employees.
