About the Role JDS Energy & Mining is seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to support the development of an underground mining project located in Northern Saskatchewan. This is a camp-based, fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) position operating on a rotational schedule, with full camp accommodations provided while on site.The Document Control Specialist will be responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining all project documentation to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with company standards. The role currently operates in Microsoft SharePoint as the site team's project document control environment, with a planned transition to Omega 365 – Document Management module; documentation will be migrated to Omega 365 at closeout of each scope section. Experience supporting a DMS transition is a strong asset. This is a high-volume role on an active site. We are looking for someone who has run document control on major capital projects and can bring structure and discipline to a growing submittal and drawing load. Working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams, this role is critical to maintaining document integrity and supporting efficient project execution. All employees are expected to promote and adhere to The JDS Way: * Accept No Mediocrity * Conduct Business Professionally, Ethically, and Practically * True to Our Word * Uphold the Highest Standards of Leadership, Teamwork, and Accountability * Maintain Open and Honest Communication * Ensure No Harm to people, the environment, assets, or reputation Key Responsibilities * Manage the receipt, tracking, distribution, and filing of all project documents in Microsoft SharePoint, and in the Omega 365 – Document Management module as it is rolled out. * Establish and maintain folder structures, naming conventions, metadata standards, and permissions to keep the project filing system consistent and searchable * Ensure proper version control, revision tracking, and document numbering protocols * Administer and maintain document workflows within Omega 365 * Distribute drawings, specifications, and technical documents to internal teams and external stakeholders * Prepare turnover and closeout documentation packages by scope section, including migration of records into Omega 365 * Maintain up-to-date registers for drawings, RFIs, submittals, and transmittals, and drive outstanding items to closure * Coordinate document workflows between engineering, procurement, and construction teams * Perform quality checks to ensure document accuracy, completeness, and compliance * Maintain up-to-date registers for drawings, RFIs, submittals, and transmittals * Support the preparation and issuance of reports, including document status and tracking logs * Archive project documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements * Assist with audits and ensure document control processes meet compliance standards * Liaise with contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely document submissions * Support continuous improvement of document control processes and systems
