Jefo is currently seeking an Applied Research Scientist – Animal Nutrition. Location: Saint-Hyacinthe Campus Salary: To be discussed Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours/week) – On-site Shift: Day Status: Full-time Permanent POSITION SUMMARY The Applied Research Scientist – Animal Nutrition plays a key role in the execution of applied research projects. This individual contributes to experimental design, trial implementation, data analysis, and the dissemination of scientific findings. The position requires rigor, scientific curiosity, and the ability to translate research outcomes into practical applications for animal nutrition. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DESIGN AND EXECUTION OF ANIMAL NUTRITION RESEARCH PROJECTS * Develop experimental protocols based on research priorities established by the Innovation Department; * Design experimental studies, including treatments, groups, measured parameters, and trial duration; * Select relevant performance indicators (zootechnical, physiological, digestive, etc.); * Identify and select external partners required for analyses; * Plan project phases and establish timelines; * Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, Technical Services, Operations) to ensure trial feasibility; * Participate in trial setup and validate experimental conditions; * Monitor ongoing projects and adjust parameters as needed; * Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards related to animal research; * Maintain thorough project documentation throughout all stages; * Participate in data collection and necropsies when required; * Coordinate activities with external partners. DATA ANALYSIS AND SCIENTIFIC INTERPRETATION * Ensure data quality and consistency for statistical analysis; * Select the most appropriate statistical models; * Conduct and/or review statistical analyses; * Analyze and interpret experimental results; * Draw conclusions applicable to the development of innovative solutions. SCIENTIFIC WRITING AND TECHNICAL COMMUNICATION * Prepare scientific reports and technical documents; * Communicate complex scientific concepts in a clear and accessible manner; * Contribute to technical documentation and training materials. KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER * Communicate trial results to Technical, Sales, and Marketing teams; * Respond to internal technical inquiries; * Ensure the scientific accuracy and consistency of communications. DESIRED PROFILE * Ph.D. in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Biology, or a related field; * Excellent analytical and scientific writing skills; * Strong interest in innovation in animal nutrition; * Bilingualism in French and English required; Spanish is considered an asset; * Excellent written communication skills in English; * Strong understanding of statistical analyses and ability to interpret results in collaboration with a statistician; * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
