Company Description The Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre is a provincially incorporated not-for-profit organization and registered charity based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Since its founding in January 2002, the Centre has served more than 120,000 hot meals to community members in need. It focuses on providing a welcoming, inclusive environment where individuals and families can access nutritious food and social support. Volunteers, community partners, and donors work together to sustain and expand the Centre’s impact. Prospective Directors join a committed team dedicated to strengthening food security and community well-being. Role Description The Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre Is recruiting members for our Board of Directors. We are looking for individuals interested in supporting the services of a non-profit, with specific experience in, skills, or knowledge of: Food Security & Nutrition; Marketing & Communications, or Fundraising & Development. This role requires availability to attend board meetings and committee meetings as applicable. Additionally, willingness to assist with in-person events where possible will be considered. The JPMOC Board of Directors is a working board, rather than solely governance focused; as such, Board Members are expected to provide input on program planning and organizational priorities as well as the day-to-day operations of the Centre. The Director At Large may help build relationships with stakeholders, support fundraising and outreach initiatives, and serve as an ambassador for the Centre in the community. Further role specification will be adapted to the successful applicants skillset. Qualifications Skills in community engagement and relationship-building with volunteers, donors, partners, and community members. Effective communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, contribute to discussions, and represent the organization in a professional manner. Prior experience in marketing & communications, food security & nutrition, and/or fundraising and development is an asset. Availability to attend regular board meetings in and participate in occasional events or activities outside regular meeting times.

Requirements
