JMC HR Consulting is pleased to partner with Acadian Construction in recruiting a Site Superintendent to join its growing Halifax, Nova Scotia team. For more than 65 years, Acadian Construction has delivered high-quality construction projects throughout Atlantic Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced construction professional who takes pride in leading safe, organized, and productive job sites. About the Opportunity Based in Halifax with travel throughout the Maritimes, the Site Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day delivery of commercial construction projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will coordinate trades, manage site activities, monitor safety and quality, resolve challenges, and keep projects moving forward. Key responsibilities include: Leading daily site activities, subcontractors, and trades. Planning and coordinating work to maintain project schedules and productivity. Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements. Monitoring work for compliance with plans, codes, safety requirements, and quality standards. Identifying and resolving site issues before they affect project timelines. Maintaining accurate daily reports, safety records, and progress updates. Serving as the on-site contact for clients, inspectors, consultants, and other stakeholders. Supporting project closeout, final inspections, and deficiency management. Travelling to project sites throughout Nova Scotia and the Maritime provinces as required. What You Bring You are a confident site leader who communicates clearly, solves problems quickly, and knows how to keep people, schedules, safety, and quality moving in the same direction. The successful candidate will bring: At least five years of Site Superintendent experience, ideally in the Halifax region. Proven experience overseeing commercial construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, building codes, and safety requirements. The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and site reporting tools. A Red Seal certification, construction-related diploma, or equivalent practical experience. Valid First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection, and other applicable safety certifications. The ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the Maritimes. Gold Seal Certification and experience overseeing projects across multiple locations would be considered assets.
