Job details

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an English to Ukrainian Review Lead for UI, Marketing & Product Content based in Canada. This freelance opportunity is ideal for an experienced Ukrainian linguist with a strong background in localization quality assurance and language quality governance. You’ll serve as the primary linguistic quality expert for a major global technology client, ensuring consistent standards across user interfaces, marketing, product, legal, informational, and support content. Working closely with reviewers, post-editors, and client stakeholders, you’ll translate quality expectations into practical guidance and measurable improvements. You’ll lead calibration activities, coach linguists, manage escalations, and ensure arbitration decisions are evidence-based and aligned with client expectations. With approximately 24 hours of work per month, this remote engagement offers ongoing collaboration with global teams on high-visibility technology products. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring quality issues and strengthening localization practices across the language community. \n Accountabilities Own localization quality standards: Define and maintain a shared understanding of quality expectations for English-to-Ukrainian content across UI, marketing, product, informational, legal, and support materials. Analyze client requirements: Review style guide and glossary updates, assess their impact on content types and quality categories, and document changes and evolving expectations. Monitor client feedback: Track corrections, feedback, and decisions from the client’s Language Manager during calibration sessions and quality discussions to ensure practical expectations are reflected in daily work. Drive community alignment: Organize regular alignment roundtables and publish monthly quality reports covering performance, priority improvement areas, style guide updates, recurring errors, and arbitration outcomes. Coach and develop reviewers: Provide individualized feedback using specific examples, conduct shadowing sessions, and deliver targeted training based on real quality and alignment data. Improve linguistic standards: Identify recurring justification patterns and quality issues, develop evidence-based style guide proposals, and share cross-locale insights with the quality management team. Manage client communication: Act as the primary linguistic point of contact for the client’s Language Manager, handling clarifications, quality discussions, escalations, and expectation tracking. Oversee arbitration quality: Ensure that all arbitration cases submitted to the client are valid, well-documented, and supported by clear evidence. Monitor quality performance: Take ownership of the locale’s review service score, including RQE audit results and alignment performance, while tracking error concentrations, severity trends, and consistency. Support continuous improvement: Reduce recurring quality discrepancies, strengthen collaboration between reviewers and post-editors, and improve alignment with client standards over time. Requirements Relevant experience: Three to five or more years of experience in Localization Quality Assurance (LQA), senior language leadership, quality governance, or a closely related role. Client and stakeholder management: Demonstrated experience serving as the primary point of contact for client Language Managers, managing formal arbitration and escalation processes, and resolving linguistic disagreements professionally. Localization quality expertise: Strong practical knowledge of localization evaluation frameworks, including RQE, LQE, error rubrics, severity mapping, and quality audit methodologies. Style guide analysis: Ability to interpret style guide and glossary changes, identify implicit client expectations, and apply appropriate quality tolerances across different content types, such as marketing, legal, and UI. Coaching and facilitation: Hands-on experience delivering one-to-one reviewer coaching, shadowing sessions, alignment roundtables, and structured monthly quality reporting. Analytical skills: Ability to identify error patterns, monitor severity drift and alignment scores, interpret quality data, and turn recurring issues into actionable improvements. Language proficiency: Native-level Ukrainian and professional-level English, with excellent written communication and linguistic judgment in both languages. Communication and conflict resolution: Strong facilitation, negotiation, stakeholder management, and evidence-based decision-making skills. Preferred experience: Previous involvement in major technology localization programs and familiarity with calibration or alignment tools. Location eligibility: Must be physically located in an approved country. Poland is an eligible location. Onboarding requirements: Successful candidates must complete a background check and use the dedicated device provided for project work. Benefits Fully remote freelance work: Work from an approved country without the need to commute to an office. Flexible, limited monthly commitment: Approximately 24 hours of work per month, suitable for professionals seeking a part-time project engagement. Long-term collaboration: Opportunity to build an ongoing professional partnership with global teams working on high-visibility technology products. Steady project volume: An established scope of work designed to support continued engagement. Comprehensive onboarding: Access to onboarding support and guidance to help you understand project expectations and workflows. Ongoing training: Opportunities to strengthen localization quality, linguistic governance, and review practices. Established linguistic resources: Access to existing language resources and quality frameworks to support consistent delivery. Dedicated project device: A device will be provided for project-related work. \n How Jobgether works: We use an AI-powered matching process to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements.
