This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Builder Studio based in Canada. We are seeking a senior full-stack software engineer to help build an innovative AI-powered platform that enables users to create custom software applications using natural language. In this role, you will own key product capabilities, from interactive builder interfaces and AI-driven code generation to secure execution environments and automated workflows. You will solve complex engineering challenges at the intersection of large language models, application development, and cloud infrastructure. Working closely with product, design, and early customers, you will turn emerging ideas into reliable, scalable experiences that make software creation accessible to non-technical users. This is an opportunity to shape a new product from the ground up within a fast-moving, AI-native environment that values technical excellence, ownership, and experimentation. \n Accountabilities Build and improve the core application-building experience, including conversational development, live previews, interactive canvases, and publishing and sharing workflows. Design and refine AI agents that transform natural-language instructions into application plans, interfaces, databases, and workflows, while safely applying changes without disrupting existing functionality. Develop the runtime and workflow infrastructure that powers generated applications, including triggers, scheduled tasks, retries, logging, and the coordination of deterministic operations with AI-driven actions. Implement secure execution environments, delegated authentication, permission management, secrets handling, and isolation mechanisms to ensure applications operate only within authorized access boundaries. Expand integrations with internal data sources and external services, including contacts, companies, lists, Google Sheets, Google Drive, CRM platforms, and MCP-based connectors. Create intuitive interfaces that clearly communicate relationships between pages, data, workflows, and AI agents, helping users understand and trust how their applications operate. Collaborate directly with design partners and customers, gathering feedback and translating it into product improvements and new capabilities. Establish engineering standards for a new product team, including effective development patterns, meaningful automated tests, model evaluations, and robust quality practices. Take ownership of the reliability, performance, security, and operating costs of the systems and features you deliver. Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate research, design, debugging, and implementation while applying sound judgment to review and validate generated code. Requirements: At least five years of experience building and shipping production software, with substantial hands-on expertise across both frontend and backend development. Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, including experience building complex, stateful user interfaces such as editors, visual canvases, application builders, or real-time collaborative tools. Solid backend engineering and API design skills, ideally with event-driven architectures or workflow systems involving retries, idempotency, and observability. Practical experience deploying large language model capabilities in production, including agent loops, tool calling, context management, code generation, or model evaluations. Strong understanding of the limitations and failure modes of AI models, with the ability to design systems that handle uncertainty and maintain reliability. Experience making sound security decisions for systems that execute untrusted or AI-generated code, including sandboxing, delegated authentication, scoped tokens, and secrets management. A proven track record of taking an ambiguous product from an early prototype to a dependable, customer-facing solution, balancing speed, scope, and quality. Strong product judgment and empathy for non-technical users, with a focus on making complex functionality understandable and accessible. Current, practical fluency with AI-assisted software development and a strong commitment to engineering quality, initiative, and end-to-end ownership. Preferred qualifications: Experience building low-code, no-code, AI application-builder products, or developer tools; familiarity with edge or serverless technologies such as Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects; experience with Ruby on Rails at scale; or a background in go-to-market, sales, marketing technology, or RevOps environments. Familiarity with technologies used across the platform, including Node.js, Python, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Google Cloud Platform, is beneficial.
