Participate in code reviews: Review and discuss code with colleagues, incorporate feedback, and follow established engineering standards and development practices. Troubleshoot and resolve bugs: Investigate software defects, identify root causes, and implement fixes that improve browser stability and the overall user experience. Contribute to open development: Collaborate with a geographically distributed team, share knowledge, and participate in an inclusive engineering culture focused on continuous improvement. Build technical expertise: Gradually take ownership of more complex engineering tasks while learning from experienced colleagues and strengthening systems programming skills. Requirements Programming experience: Proficiency in C or C++ and some practical experience with systems-level programming on a major desktop platform. Operating system knowledge: Familiarity with Windows or macOS development environments and an understanding of how software interacts with the underlying operating system. Problem-solving skills: Ability to investigate technical issues, reason through implementation challenges, and develop reliable solutions with guidance when needed. Communication and collaboration: Willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, communicate progress clearly, and work constructively with colleagues across a distributed team. Growth mindset: Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning new technologies, improving technical capabilities, and contributing to meaningful software projects. Teamwork and accountability: Ability to manage assigned tasks, follow established development processes, incorporate feedback, and raise concerns or blockers promptly. Additional assets: Experience with Rust, familiarity with Linux or macOS internals, and exposure to native platform APIs such as Win32 or Cocoa. Open-source interest: Previous contributions to open-source projects or a strong interest in learning how to participate in community-driven software development. Inclusive approach: An appreciation for diverse perspectives and a willingness to contribute to an open, respectful, and collaborative working environment. Candidates do not need to meet every preferred qualification to apply. Practical experience, curiosity, and a commitment to continued learning are highly valued.
