This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Workday Financial Analyst based in Canada. This role serves as a key subject matter expert supporting Workday Financials across a broad range of finance and accounting functions. You’ll translate complex business requirements into practical Workday solutions, while supporting production, implementations, upgrades, and strategic initiatives. The position combines functional expertise, financial systems knowledge, reporting and analytics, and hands-on problem solving. You’ll work closely with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to improve processes, deliver actionable insights, and optimize the use of Workday capabilities. A significant focus will be placed on Workday Prism, Accounting Center, reporting, security, data governance, and financial analytics. You’ll join a collaborative, fast-moving environment where continuous learning and adaptability are essential as new Workday features and technologies evolve. Accountabilities Serve as a subject matter expert across Workday Financials modules, including Financial Accounting, Prism, Accounting Center, Procurement, Supplier Accounts and Contracts, Customer Accounts, Expenses, Cash Management, and Business Assets. Resolve day-to-day Workday production issues while contributing to process redesign, new module implementations, system enhancements, and strategic finance initiatives. Provide hands-on support to accounting and finance teams during month-end and year-end close activities. Gather business requirements, research Workday functionality, assess potential solutions, coordinate testing, and support implementation activities. Develop, optimize, and maintain Workday Prism datasets, data sources, calculated fields, dashboards, and other analytics capabilities to deliver actionable financial insights. Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to translate business needs into Workday reports, dashboards, integrations, accounting rules, and configuration solutions. Research current and upcoming Workday capabilities and document relevant functionality, processes, and technical solutions. Maintain and enhance Workday Financials security roles while supporting appropriate data governance, access controls, and compliance. Drive reporting and analytics improvements by leveraging Prism and Workday-delivered reporting tools. Support new module deployments, system upgrades, and ongoing Workday releases through testing, validation, troubleshooting, and functional analysis. Provide end-user training, documentation, and ongoing support to Finance stakeholders. Handle complex reporting and analytics requests and develop solutions that meet evolving business requirements. Monitor, troubleshoot, and debug Workday integrations and help resolve issues across connected systems. Contribute to continuous process improvement and identify opportunities to increase efficiency, automation, data quality, and user experience. Requirements 4+ years of experience working with Workday Finance in an implementation, consulting, technical support, or comparable role. 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing or supporting Workday Prism and/or Accounting Center. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. Workday Financials Core and Workday Prism certifications are preferred. Experience across the full project lifecycle and Workday implementations is highly desirable. Strong functional knowledge of financial accounting processes, including General Ledger, allocations, consolidations, multicurrency, and multibook accounting. Experience with Business Assets, including asset tracking, depreciation, ASC 842 lease accounting, and multibook asset accounting, is an asset. Familiarity with bank and settlement functionality, including first notice rules, matching rules, and cash forecasting, is desirable. Knowledge of corporate credit cards and expense reporting processes is beneficial. Strong understanding of ERP concepts, financial business processes, reporting, and the relationships between different system modules. Ability to accurately gather information from business users, understand their needs, and translate those requirements into effective Workday configurations and solutions. Ability to learn and apply new Workday concepts and functionality as features and releases evolve. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and Finance stakeholders. Excellent technical documentation and business writing skills. Strong organizational and prioritization abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple engagements, deliverables, and competing deadlines. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, including the ability to monitor and debug Workday integrations. JIRA experience is a plus. Experience integrating billing and revenue information from third-party systems is a plus.
