About the role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Confined spaces. Noisy. Dusty. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Willing to relocate. Commercial. Millwork/pre-fab shopwork. Residential. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Supervise other workers. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. Working at heights training. CPR Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Willing to travel.
