Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, our environments will also be renewed with new Nienhuis Montessori materials and furniture. We are seeking educators who understand that Montessori is not simply a method of teaching, but a way of preparing an environment in which children can develop through purposeful activity, independence, concentration, and meaningful relationships. The successful candidate will bring a genuine respect for the child, a willingness to observe before intervening, and a commitment to continual professional growth. We value educators who contribute thoughtfully to a collaborative community and who see themselves as part of the preparation and stewardship of the Montessori environment. The Role The Montessori Guide & Assistant works collaboratively to prepare and sustain an environment that responds to the developmental needs of the children and reflects the principles of AMI Montessori practice. Responsibilities include: Preparing, maintaining, and continually refining a beautiful, orderly, purposeful, and authentic Montessori environment. Observing children carefully and using those observations to inform presentations, guidance, and preparation of the environment. Supporting children in developing independence, concentration, coordination, confidence, and respect for self and others. Offering lessons and guidance in accordance with the Montessori approach and the developmental needs of the individual child. Protecting the child's opportunity for uninterrupted work and purposeful activity. Supporting a peaceful and respectful classroom community through consistent, thoughtful guidance. Working collaboratively with the Montessori Guide, colleagues, practicum trainees, and school leadership. Building respectful and professional relationships with children and families. Contributing to an inclusive community that recognises and values cultural, linguistic, and individual diversity. Participating in ongoing reflection, professional development, and the continual improvement of the Montessori environment. What We Are Looking For: Essential: AMI Primary Diploma/Certification. Experience working within an AMI Montessori environment. French language proficiency. Experience supporting or mentoring Montessori practicum trainees.
