For more information please visit arrowcareers.ca Responsibilities Assist with general yard clean up/maintenance Assist with cleaning of equipment, cutting steel banding for package securement, monitoring disposal of items, and railcar securement Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew Follow all workplace safety policies, and compliance regulations, participate in identifying hazards Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics Establish or adjust daily tasks/schedules to meet changing order priorities Maintenance of fleet equipment, (i.e.,. wash and paint equipment) Follow maintenance testing and repairs procedures of products Keep yard and equipment neat and organized Provide internal and external customer service excellence Cross training on other functions at the reload Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager You Possess Can carry at least 50 lbs and swing a 10 lbs sledge hammer Previous general labourer experience is an asset Forklift operation is an asset Good physical condition Ability to climb ladders, throw rail cables and lift 50lbs Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind) Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment Experience working with computers is an asset The embodiment of Arrow's Core Values: Safety, Quality, Integrity, Responsibility, Teamwork, and Fun! #IND Arrow has been recognized as a Top Fleet Employer of Distinction, a SmartWay Transport Partner, a BCTA Clean Carrier, a BC Hydro Clean Energy Champion and as a Carrier of Excellence in Women's Leadership.

What you’ll do

The General Labourer is responsible for yard maintenance, equipment cleaning, and railcar securement while adhering to all safety protocols. They will also assist with daily tasks to meet order priorities and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

Candidates must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Previous general labour experience and forklift operation skills are considered assets.
