The Program – Stride Enviros is excited to be developing this newest model of care in the Child Intervention System. Stride is a therapeutic family based, culturally safe, short term out of home placement program intended to support youth with complex trauma-impacted care needs. This model is a wraparound service that incorporates a Therapeutic Caregiver, as the primary change agent, working within a Therapeutic Team, including cultural supports to provide individualized trauma informed supports. The Position – Youth Connector Working collaboratively with Caregivers, Team, and Circle members, the Youth Connector’s primary responsibility is to build relationships with youth and support their connection with the community. For most youth, this will include regular one-to-one time, especially early in placement. This role may have logistical functions (e.g., support during school suspension), recreational functions (e.g., activity finder, activity partner), and facilitative functions (e.g., supporting cultural connections, visit supervision). This position will require some weekend and evening work but the schedule is flexible. For Consideration Applicants Will Need to Demonstrate the Following Strong relationship development skills. Education & Experience Currently enrolled or completion of diploma/degree in Human Services Field Experience working with Complex Youth/Children Experience working in the Children Services Sector Knowledge of experiential learning, strength-based practice, and trauma informed care Qualifications – Personality Traits Collaborative Team player Inspirational – encourages and supports others to be their best Creative – can think outside of the box. What you’ll do

The Youth Connector builds relationships with youth to support their connection to the community through one-to-one time and recreational activities. They work collaboratively within a therapeutic team to provide trauma-informed support and facilitate cultural connections.

Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a diploma or degree in a Human Services field and possess experience working with complex youth. A valid Class 5 driver's license, First Aid/CPR certification, and successful completion of background checks are required.
