JOB DESCRIPTION The Forklift Operator, Putaway will be responsible for supporting production and warehouse for the movement of raw material and effective management of inventory. The Forklift Operator will manage production and warehouse records of raw materials, complete all necessary and required documents for outbound products, receive raw material and ensure pallet shipment as correct. Schedule :- Monday - Saturday 12:00 p.m. - 0830 p.m. Responsibilities: Order Selection: Operate forklift to move/organize raw material and finished goods in the warehouse. Load/unload trucks and trailers using a forklift. Assist production with movement of raw materials when needed. Order picking and selecting. Rotate raw material inventory (FIFO). Pallet assembly for finished goods. Maintenance and general sweep of the warehouse docks as needed. Complete internal documents including but not limited to Bill of Lading, outbound checklists and invoice copies. Cleaning, organizing and repairing pallets when needed. Organize shipping containers in the yard when required. Conduct forklift pre-checks such as charging of batter and water of battery. Report equipment issues to appropriate parties. Check and verify inbound/outbound shipments and invoices. Work with warehouse to move raw material to production areas. Manage raw material cooler, ensure proper orientation and follow the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method. Maintain accurate records of raw material usage. Monitor and manage inventory levels. To perform all the necessary inbound and outbound shipments in the warehouse. Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met. Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their supervisor. Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present. Perform other duties as assigned. Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems. Forklift certification or equivalent experience preferred. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately. Teamwork: May assist in training new selectors on safe work practices and order selection procedures. Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations. Skills: Order Selection: Proven ability to accurately and efficiently select orders with minimal errors. Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) frequently. Work in a cold environment with varying temperatures (1-7 degrees Celsius) for Operate power equipment such as a forklift and/or manual pallet jack (90%). Certifications: Forklift certification Voice-directed picking system training preferred.
