About the role

**JOB TYPE:**Seasonal, April-June
WAGE:****$28.00 per hour
**PROJECT LOCATION:**Camp, Fort McMurray, AB

A Skilled Labourer is responsible for handling numerous workplace responsibilities with accuracy and efficiency. A Skilled Labourer must be able to lift and carry heavy objects repeatedly and for prolonged periods of time.
HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE (RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Perform tasks involving physical labour at construction sites
- Willingness to learn small equipment operation
- Wide experience in a variety of types of physical labour
- Robust physical stamina for performing strenuous and repetitive tasks
- Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations and general cleanup of debris and other waste materials
- Signal heavy equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
- Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities
- Load, unload or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations according to project plans or specifications
- Measure, mark or record openings or distances to areas where construction work will be performed
- Provides assistance to other craft workers
- Work in adherence to Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Other duties may be assigned as required
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? (REQUIREMENTS)
- An asset if already obtained valid CSTS, H2S, and First Aid & CPR certifications
- General knowledge of raking, shoveling, housekeeping, etc.
- Knowledge of the safe operation of basic hand and power tools
- Knowledge of workplace safety policies and procedures including safe lifting and handling
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Demonstrate sound work ethics
- Physically able to perform job duties
- Ability to pass Drug, Alcohol and 50lb Fitness to work test
