Location: Remote with Site Visits Industry: Mining Schedule: Monday to Friday
Introduction
Brunel is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to support a major mining project near Princeton, British Columbia. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Project Quality Management System to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and contractual obligations throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
This position provides technical quality leadership across multidisciplinary scopes including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation works. The successful candidate will oversee quality planning, inspection and test requirements, contractor quality performance, non-conformance management, turnover documentation, and verification activities to ensure all project deliverables meet established quality standards. Working closely with engineering, construction, procurement, commissioning teams, contractors, and vendors, the Quality Assurance Manager will drive quality compliance, support risk mitigation, and ensure the successful completion and handover of project assets.
Responsibilities
Maintain and administer the Project Quality Management Plan, including quality procedures, inspection records, turnover packages, and document control requirements. Coordinate and track quality documentation received from contractors, consultants, vendors, and third-party stakeholders. Review and distribute inspection and testing records in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and project quality requirements. Support contractor compliance with approved quality management systems and documentation standards. Provide quality oversight for multidisciplinary construction activities, including civil infrastructure, heavy earthworks, bridge construction, mechanical systems, piping systems, electrical systems, and instrumentation. Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), inspection documentation, and hold-point release activities. Track and manage turnover packages, vendor documentation, test records, and quality dossiers required for project completion and handover. Monitor and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventative measures to support continuous improvement. Support commissioning and start-up activities through punch list management, turnover validation, and verification of completion documentation. Coordinate with third-party inspectors and interface with engineering, construction, procurement, operations, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality objectives are achieved. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Experience managing quality assurance and quality control activities on large-scale industrial, mining, infrastructure, or construction projects. Experience working within EPC and/or EPCM project delivery environments. Strong understanding of quality management systems, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), turnover documentation, vendor data requirements, and project handover processes. Demonstrated experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders. Experience supporting multidisciplinary construction projects involving civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and heavy industrial scopes. Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment. Comfortable working in a field-based environment and interacting regularly with construction teams, contractors, and project personnel.
