About the role
JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Production Manager Reporting to: Director of Operations Department: Production Location: 1105 Clay Ave, Unit 7, Burlington Status: Full-Time

Overview: Reporting to the Director of Operations the Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all of the aspects of production for 3 shifts. Ensuring that the manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:

Staff, train evaluate and develop team members.

Accountable for production costs, labour utilization, yields, results of Operations and cost of operations.

Manage line efficiencies, key performance indicators and down time.

Develops, recommends, and implements the maintenance improvement plan for the plant, including the preparation and execution of the annual capital expenditure budget for this location.

Monitors the production process, makes periodic checks, and adjusts equipment or work practices according to standard operating procedures.

Ensures equipment in the area assigned is in working order and that working conditions are always safe.

Strictly adhering to and follow all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the company policies and training sessions.

Verify the readiness of the production line at start- up and supervise change overs.

Manager overall package and product quality to ensure all standards and specifications.

Ensures that customer service level targets are met through the synchronization of manufacturing processes/activities with all functional areas-from "demand planning" to "customer delivery".

Manages the performance of hourly and salaried manufacturing personnel via effective implementation of Human Resources processes and policies.

Maintains and builds a productive/positive employee relations environment.

Sets and meets all "Health and Safety" audit targets.

Accountable for all aspects of "Quality Assurance", and for meeting customer product specifications. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
-
Minimum 5 years of Production Management experience in a manufacturing environment must be in personal and home care products.

Demonstrated leadership, superior communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Excellent planning and organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead the work of others.

Experience in "Six Sigma" or "Continuous Improvement"
-
A proven track record of successfully participating in, and /or leading projects that deliver significant cost savings.

Intermediate skills with Office tools such as excel, word, PowerPoint and Outlook
-
Experience working within multiple shifts.

Forklift Certification is a plus.
