This is an exciting position where you'll work closely with our Sr. Sales Director as a Market Sales Trainer / Recruiter.
The Market Sales Trainer / Recruiter designs and coordinates sales training. Delivers SCI sales education that enhances sales skills and reinforces the selling process at the Lower Mainland combo locations. Applies learning and development knowledge and skills to accomplish responsibilities. Facilitates and conducts interactive training sessions that practice and promote sales techniques, methods, technology, ethics, and skills. Work with Sr. Sales Director on recruiting using platforms, job fairs, media, community recruitment and or networking.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
60% Deliver Training
- Facilitate and deliver sales training curriculum in person and virtual. Administer and evaluate tests.
- Observe student sales skills and provide timely constructive feedback to develop sales skills
- Evaluate and document student performance against learning standards. Identify unsuccessful student’s performance; discuss evaluation and observations with Management.
- Using company programs in place to deliver training.
- Collaborate with location and sales management as well as Human Resources Learning & Development to identify development needs, resources, new product initiatives, and changes in the business.
- Develop sales curriculum and materials to educate sales skills, industry regulations, company processes, products, and proprietary software that results in a high performing sales force.
- Continually enhance and improve curriculum and materials. Network and collaborate with training colleagues to build best in class curriculum, materials, and delivery methods.
Administration
- Schedule training and coordinate or order required materials
- Update training in lead management system
- Additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
40% Recruiting
- Coordinates recruitment functions, including job and career fairs as required.
- Uses various resources to source qualified diverse candidates, including the internet, intranet, media, schools, community recruitment, networking, etc.
- Screens candidates, using telephone screens, interviews, assessment tools, etc.
- Onboarding sales staff in Western Canada
- Work with our in-house recruiters
Education & Licenses (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, or related discipline
- At least two (2) year experience developing and conducting sales trainings
- At least two (2) year consumer sales experience in the funeral industry or similar industry.
- Knowledge of adult training concepts and practices to effectively impart knowledge or skills
- Prior experience evaluating skill level and effectively coaching and providing constructive feedback
- Prior experience facilitating training in a classroom setting

- Ability to work with diverse groups with varying levels of ability and skills
- Work Process and task oriented, motivated to keep projects moving ahead by removing obstacles and exploring alternatives
- Applies best practices in documenting business requirements in an iterative way, particularly using agile methodologies
- Must have a positive attitude, a drive to continually advance your understanding of the industry and business, and is highly self-motivated
- Working Conditions
- Works productively with minimal supervision; achieves targets set by Sr. Sales Director; achieves work objectives in a timely manner
Environment
- Work is primarily indoors; professional attire required at the required location in Burnaby, BC
Postures
- Frequent continuous period of time sitting or standing up to 6 hours per day; frequently climbing stairs to access buildings
Physical Demands
- Physical effort requiring carrying training materials and equipment, manual dexterity for computer and phone usage
Hours
- May work beyond standard hours or schedule as business needs arise
Travel
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle
- You pay for gas + all car-related costs for local travel
- Frequently driving around the Lower Mainland
- Some overnight travel required
Compensation
- $34 - $36 hourly rate and an incentive plan to be discussed in the interview
