Position Available: Groundsperson/Labourer (Full-Time, Permanent)

Location: Calgary, AB

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-trips on heated and refrigerated containers, following customer instructions and accurately reporting fuel and temperature readings.

• Perform inventory checks using specialized software (Oasis).

• Complete and document pre-trip analysis of yard equipment using tablets.

• Inspect all equipment interchanged by rail at the terminal for damages/defects.

• Carefully handle IBCs (inter box connectors) on railcars, including unlocking/locking containers.

• Operate service vehicles in tight areas within the terminal.

• Undertake physical duties as required, such as standing, bending, lifting, and climbing on railcars.

• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.

• Perform any additional tasks as required by the role.

• Apply, remove, and assist with the identification of Blue Signal and derail track protection.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

• Ability to work on a rotating 2-week, 12-hour shift schedule, (nights)

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Clear communication skills in English, especially over the radio.

• Steel toe boots with a minimum 8" rise and no exemptions from PPE requirements of hard hats, high visibility vests, and safety glasses.

• Basic computer skills and proficiency with iPads.

• Capable of working under minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated safe and efficient workplace practices.

• Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

• Attention to detail and ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 75 pounds

• Successful completion of a company-paid pre-employment screening test and background check.
