About the role
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Designer to join our COI Team. A Designer is part artist, part visionary, part engineer and part computer tech wizard - all rolled into one. Our designers are driven, optimistic, and committed to outstanding customer satisfaction. Our Designer is responsible in playing a big role in taking our clients needs and ideas from concept to realization. The Designer, using their knowledge, artistic abilities, and innovative design tools, will assist our clients in creating better and sustainable solutions.
This is a full-time position, working out of our impeccably designed and furnished office in Calgary. You’ll mostly work from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with irregular or extended hours as projects demand.

THE DAY TO DAY
- Provide clients with an innovative and unique experience from initial meeting to final walkthrough.
- Create inspiring spaces and solutions that will wow all stakeholders.
- Understand the scope of work on site and keep up to date with all project details.
- Design client projects using ICE® software, populating the DIRTT space from scratch or from a predesigned AutoCAD™ plan.
- Translate 2D plans into 3D renderings and/or Virtual Reality walkthroughs.
- Work with clients, sales teams, project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other designers to help bring the project to life.
- Review all production information and drawings for accuracy.
- Organize and submit orders in conjunction with the project manager.
AND YOU HAVE
- Related post-secondary diploma/associate degree in interior design or architectural technology a related discipline is required.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on project demands.
- Previous experience working in an architectural and/or interior firm.
- Experience designing commercial spaces.
- Strong knowledge of interior design/architectural field and current practices.
- The ability to read construction documents and specifications.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and other 3D software.
- A passion for creating exceptional spaces and awe-inspiring places.
