Accountabilities
The Lead Analyst, Player Analytics will own key analytics initiatives focused on understanding player behavior, optimizing growth strategies, and improving long-term retention. The role requires strong business partnership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to translate complex analysis into actionable recommendations.
Partner with Revenue Operations, Marketing, Product, and VIP teams to prioritize and execute analytics initiatives focused on player acquisition, engagement, and retention. Lead end-to-end analytics for bonus and incentive programs, measuring performance, optimizing structures, and improving player value and return on investment. Analyze player behavior across multiple products to identify engagement trends, friction points, monetization opportunities, and personalization strategies. Develop analytical frameworks to support player segmentation, lifecycle analysis, retention strategies, and product recommendations. Apply machine learning concepts and AI-assisted tools to accelerate insight generation, improve workflows, and expand analytics capabilities. Build predictive analyses and models that support business decisions, including churn prediction, propensity scoring, and lifetime value optimization. Communicate findings clearly through compelling narratives, actionable recommendations, and data-driven presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and drive measurable business impact.
Requirements
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical expertise, business judgment, and technical skills with the ability to influence decisions across teams. Experience working with consumer behavior data and building insights from complex datasets is highly valued.
3+ years of experience in analytics, ideally within gaming, sports betting, consumer products, or other industries with rich behavioral data. Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Strong SQL skills, including advanced concepts such as window functions, CTEs, complex aggregations, and querying large datasets. Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and ability to develop efficient analytical queries. Proven ability to transform complex analysis into clear business recommendations and measurable actions. Strong understanding of A/B testing, experimental design, statistical significance, and interpreting test results in business contexts. Experience with funnel analysis, cohort analysis, player lifecycle modeling, retention curves, and engagement metrics. Working knowledge of machine learning concepts and practical experience applying AI tools to analytics workflows. Familiarity with dbt transformation workflows, Python for analysis or automation, segmentation models, predictive modeling, or LTV analysis is preferred. Experience in gaming, iGaming, sportsbook, casino, poker products, or incentive and promotion analytics is a plus. Strong communication skills, curiosity, ownership mindset, and the ability to operate independently in a collaborative environment. Ability to travel occasionally for domestic or international business needs.
