Eke Me-Xi Learning Centre, Port Hardy, BC

0.14 FTE Continuing – Outdoor Education 8-12

Commencing: September 1, 2026

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• completion of a Bachelor of Education;
• certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification Branch;
• academic training, qualifications and recent successful experience teaching secondary Outdoor Education;
• strong classroom management skills;
• the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies;
• the ability and desire to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach to teaching and learning; and
• a desire to work in a flexible alternative learning environment; and
• ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.

The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $66,299 to $116,016, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The Remote Recruitment and Retention allowance is available for SD85 teachers payable at $3,126 over ten months.
