Construction Carpenter Apprentice (2nd–4th Year)

At Whitson Construction, apprentices gain real experience across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. We are looking for 2nd–4th Year Carpenter Apprentices who want to develop strong, well-rounded skills.
Project Types:
- Industrial plant sites and facilities
- Wastewater treatment plants and lift stations
- Underground infrastructure and utilities
- Commercial and light industrial construction
Duties:
Concrete:
- Assist with formwork construction
- Rebar layout and installation
- Concrete placing, finishing, and stripping
Carpentry & Site Work:
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials
- Assist in building structural and temporary works
- Read and interpret drawings with supervision
- Support layout, site prep, and construction activities
General:
- Operate tools and maintain equipment
- Assist crews and maintain clean job sites
- Work in confined spaces when required
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of construction experience
- Registered Carpenter Apprentice
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Valid driver’s license and transportation
- Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test (including THC)
- Training:

- CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015
- Assets: Confined Space, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, EWP, equipment experience
Working Conditions:
- Monday to Friday, 8-10 hours a day
- Must be flexible to work overtime, travel and work weekends or holidays to accommodate business needs.
- Outdoor work in all types of weather
- Physically demanding (lifting, bending, noise, vibration, active all day)
